Our house in Hilden 1960
Our house in Hilden 1960

This ist aunties house

Though our parental home, built in 1955 in a settlement for refugees from East Prussia and Silesia.
"1 german Morgen" agriculture (approximately 1800 m²) was one of them and had to be managed first.
The right extension with utility room, garage and a chicken coop came later. And in the 1. floor a small apartment for tenants.
I raised up with my sister, 2 cousins, grandma, grandpa and the aunts on here.

The cohesion of the settlers was great, they helped each other, from farmers to horse breeders were all represented.

Our grandfather was in Sensburg at Königsberg, a real estate manager and real tuff Prussian.
I was made familiar with working on agriculture, digging, fruit and vegetables to chicken slaughter.

At  an age of 12, I already went with the bike, the take the eggs to customers. Besides the chickens we had a cat. We also got a German Shepherd, with whom I made long walks in the forest. It was a great time.

It was rebuilt a lot over the years, we reduced in the time the agriculture. Was made from the chicken coop a workshop for me and I could live out my crafting skills. Schwimmigpool with a well and lots of grass followed. The expansion of the first Floor in the main house came later.

My sister and I were brought up by two sisters (Selma and Hilde) of our mother.
We were born on the farm in the Odenwald of our Father. Unfortunately, our mother had stomach cancer, was brought together and maintained with us to the aunts in Hilden, close to Düsseldorf. When I was 6 years old, she passed away.

Died in 1996 and Selma for a home accident, she broke the fall both upper arms and was maintained in the hospital bed after a chaotic hospital stay in the living room. Hilde was formerly a head nurse.
Selma was disabled veterans, had at the escape a shell splinter in the lungs and got the highest level of care.

From today's perspective, I would say it has been maintained to death, there were just too many nursing programs.

Auntie Hilde wanted to emigrate again to Andalusia with my sister.

My sister had emigrated in the 80-ies years ever to Andalucia and on a finca in the mountains with her husband failed.
Except Spansich, drinking red wine and the mountain village life she has apparently learned nothing from it.

Later I researched that the finca was apparently bought with a handshake and absolutely no proof that it belonged to here.

Andalucia is fantastic and offers many options. Only if one takes his problems out of Germany and by that I mean not just the alcohol, running away can not improve anything. Drink more red wine was no solution ..... the contrary.

In short: it was decided that the house to renovate and after that to sell.

My sister got a written power of attorney as a co-owner of the house from Hilde.

My sister flew with her now estranged husband to Andalusia and they rented a cottage on the beach for the aunt and they returned to Germany.
Auntie unceremoniously grabbed her things and flew to Spain.
My Sister has never made a driver's license and had to rely on a driver.

If the problems started right, little sister got to know the young man who would help us with the renovation of the house.
He soon revealed himself as a junkie. She was then barely responsive and now everything better. Was drunk more often in here  off time.
One day she fired the open fire place with
glulam wood. The fireplace overheated and caught fire in the attic. I had not noticed that and already gone to sleep at that time.

Neighbors called the fire department and I could only grab a coat and my papers, I was already drawn out by fire men.
At minus 15 °, 4h long, I had to watch as the house despite and five fire trucks, burned out the upper floor.

Sister should have tried, with a little bucket, totally drunk, to extinguish the fire. She was just brought out of the house and the house has  been locked after the deletion night. After spending a night with friends, I sat down with my insurance in conjunction.

Luckily I had some years ago made a treaty change, because my son was so enthralled and Alexander during his visits that he was careless when tinkering and almost had once nearly set the carpet on fire.
So I had everything insured at the original price and the plus package. (I can only recommend to anyone.)
For 2 months, the insurance paid the temporary accommodation with full board.

"The know-it-all sister" was not insured and has almost lost everything. The house was in ruins and the booze Versicheung not paid.

The house was an ice palace at -15 ° C and the
firefighting water. Only with the crowbar I could search the burning residues for useable, there was not much, the flames and the firefighting water had done all the work.
This was the first Christmas Day 1996.
After some time aunty called urgent for help from Spain, the cottage in which she lived was now dilapidated, drew it and constantly had to be replaced, the gas cylinder for heating and cooking. Since here helped fortunately a neighbor.

For shopping, there was only near the campsite in about 2km away and she had to march with their 85 years the route on foot.

How can they, even in the fog of alcohol as a scrap dwelling without infrastructure and only easily accessible by car, hire a place like this for an old lady ......

If the alcohol is more important than a human life!!!!!!!
I am now even more foul than pissed.
How can a person who has renounced many things in life to raise two kids, do that .....

One of my cousins, Theo said to be equal to accompany me to Andalusia.
Now I was pressed for time and could not finnish all things, but the cry of here was bad.

I  (almost 9 meters long) bought a 16 year old U.S. Pace Arrow motorhome a GM big block engine with 7.4 liters and 220 hp, with a truck automatic, for the two aunts, a year ago.
Photos at Pech oder Schicksal . With that, I wanted to take them on long trips, possibly to East Prussia, they would like to once again see their homeland, where they grew up.

It was 16 years old, the engine is indestructible for some beefing also very comfortable, with beds for 6 persons, proper toilet and large shower room, 2 air conditioners with gas and electric, a 4.5 KW generator, even was a small gas oven in there.

Theo knew the route well and
drew, to Andalusia, the "U.S. Pace Arrow.

I even bought a 1.2 ton trailer for the 16 V golf, we packed everything to still use what was in the house and seller and drove off.
After some time the Pace Arrow began to spin, he had 2 fuel tanks, but also by switching back and forth, it was not some point further, by short
cool offs we continued unpredictable.

In France, I fell a little behind Theo, he had taken speed before an uphill run. I was just with the trailer on the high bridge when a gust caught me, I had to
increase speed just full throttle around the looping trailer.
Availed nothing, the golf was pushed transversely and the trailer tipped already in the dark .....

What was coming, we were in a night mare, huge headlights came toward me, slowed down, in french the drivers just lamenting short, in french, set up the trailer and told me I should quickly come up to speed ... vite vite ...

That was at least 5 heavy truck trains are on track since gone into the braks was twitching and jerking of the1.2 t trailer again, took less than 5 minutes.

The Golf 16 V is approved for 1.2 tonnes trailer load, because of the high hp numbers, I think, 1 t, would have been right, the overrun brake had been tested, but as a real blast get him to the gound.

Theo waited behind the hill and was irritated. We drove to a bigger parking lot and stayed for night time.

With the gasoline quirks the motorhome, we went to Andalucia 2600 km tolerably well.

Unfortunately, the information on the phone were very confusing, I got the impression she now lived conveniently in a larger house.
It was a small bungalow, an apartment with more  a loo, not more than 20 square meters.
So I dragged too much and I 2/3 throw away later. She also wanted to hardly anything of the things.

I had secretly orphaned container looking into which I could throw from the fine spring frame for odds and ends from her bed to her room.

Arrived at Auntie, my cusin properly cooked for her, she was in a pitiful state. Very slowly, right after meals and society, her condition improved slightly.
After a few days Theo unfortunately had to fly back home,  he was retired, but the family was waiting. I bought a ticket, got him a window seat and thanked him very much that he had taken part in the tour de force.

Titus earned his money through tours of the island. He wanted to order a car to take us on a jungle tour.

Eddie and I are craftsmen and were out on adventures, and he should have a little more income and convinced him with his 27 years old Ford Anglia to make the tour. A large tool box and a roll of wire were there.

There were only minor repairs needed on the road: 2 spark plug wire had to be shortened and the altenator belt tension again.

You could see the road thru large holes in the rear, and at right showers the water came into the car, but we enjoyed the tour so much and had lots of fun.

From the fantastic memorable tour I still need photos and I hope, that I will soon set yet.

(Suriya = Sonne) Village=Dorf, Siedlung

Resort= Urlaubsanlage.

L.T.D. = GmbH

Vielleicht kommt Urlaub-Sonnensiedlung GmbH sehr nah.

Titus prepared with the authorities an application for a public LTD and before we could buy a plantation in the east of the island, bird sanctuary, which was overrun by a cyclone and was offered almost no trees.

The plant was named Suriya Village Resort LTD. (Suriya = sun).

It was cozy, right at the living room a small courtyard with open roof.
If it rained an indescribable feeling of peace and being in the tropics.

Here, with Upali, a lawyer and a good friend.

When he came to Germany for the first time, was real winter and deep snow.

It was hard to believe that a solid lawyer rolled in the snow, which he knew only from the TV.

By an artist we odered to create a cardboard model of the Resort, that he then painted for us.

Later, we took this as a business card layout template.
